Hooks Rules
Last updated October 11, 2026
Hooks is for helpful, honest thoughts about the page you're on. Notes are anonymous, but they're public, and real people read them. Write the kind of note you'd be glad to find.
Not allowed
- Harassment and hate. No insults, threats or bullying aimed at a person, and no attacks on people for who they are, such as their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation or nationality.
- Other people's private information. No home addresses, phone numbers, private emails, ID numbers, or anything else that could expose someone who hasn't made it public.
- Sexual content. No sexually explicit notes. Frank, non-graphic talk about health, relationships or products is fine. Anything sexualizing minors is never allowed and will be reported to the authorities.
- Violence and harm. No encouraging violence, self-harm or dangerous acts.
- Spam and scams. No ads, repeated self-promotion, scam or phishing links, or the same note posted over and over.
- Impersonation. Don't pretend to be the site's owner, a company, or another person.
- Illegal content. Nothing that breaks the law, such as selling illegal goods or sharing pirated material.
Fine to post
- Questions, tips, corrections, warnings and honest opinions, including negative ones, about the page, product or topic.
- Disagreeing with another note, as long as you go after the idea and not the person.
What happens when a note is reported
Every note has a Report button. Reported notes are reviewed by hand, and notes that break these rules are deleted. Because Hooks has no accounts, we can't warn or contact the author. We only remove the note.
A report hides the note for you right away. For everyone else it stays up until it has been reviewed.
Contact
To report something urgent, or a note that's about you, email hooksapphelp@gmail.com with the note's text and the page it's on.
